Saving the Best for Last
If you’ve been following my story, you know that I am new to New Braunfels and have been out meeting new people and discovering new places. While at the Women’s Conference earlier this year, I met someone who recommended we meet again at Water 2 Wine. What an opportunity to discover a new place and get to know a great person.
Travis, our server, was super friendly and knowledgeable about their wine. He told us about how all the wines are blended, oaked, and fermented in-house with grapes imported from all over the world. Impressive!
Water 2 Wine offers more than 50 varieties of wine, many award winning, and all their wines are low sulphite, so you are unlikely to suffer a headache later.
We wanted to taste a variety of wines, so we ordered the wine flights. What a great idea – it gives people a chance to discover new wines and it helps those who have no idea what they want learn what their palate desires.
There’s also the opportunity to make your own wine combinations and personalize the wine labels. We will definitely try that in the future.
Ambiance and Ease of Hearing
The ambiance was very inviting, with a combination of tables and comfy seating areas all adorned with fresh flowers. The tall ceilings were not a detriment to conversation, thanks to the sound bafflers installed overhead. Because I’m in the business of hearing and my husband has a significant hearing loss, ease of conversation is always something I pay attention to.
Although my husband could follow the conversation with little problem, he pulled out his MultiMic (a device that improves the signal to noise ratio, meaning that he can hear speech better than the noise around him) to have an even better listening experience. He can hear and understand speech so well because the sound gets routed directly to his hearing aids.
