Considering Hearing Loss Treatment? | Inspiring Stories From Our Patients at Hear in Texas

by | Jun 22, 2023 | Hearing Loss, Patient Resources

Every single day, we receive calls from individuals in the heart of Texas concerned about their hearing or the hearing of their loved ones.

They’re filled with questions, weighed down by worries, and uncertain of the next steps.

One of the most prominent challenges they face in their journey is often not knowing anyone else dealing with hearing loss or wearing hearing aids. This leaves them yearning for advice, comfort, and empathy from someone who has walked in their shoes.

While we strive to provide them with professional advice and guidance at Hear in Texas, we understand the value of firsthand experiences and advice.

If you, or anyone you know, are grappling with similar issues, then this article is meant for you.

A number of our patients kindly agreed to share their experiences to inspire and empower others who are in similar situations. Their hope is to share their key insights and encourage others to seek treatment sooner.

Stories From Our Patients

We urge you to share this article with anyone you believe may benefit from it.

Our first story comes from Paul.

Paul was struggling to hear people speak, especially against any background noise. When he first visited Hear in Texas, his biggest fear was being put straight into a hearing booth without first having his concerns addressed.

However, his experience with Dr. Sally turned his fears around. “First of all, Dr. Sally listened to my concerns and didn’t just stick me into a booth,” he says. “She fitted me for hearing aids that very first visit. To be able to hear people speak in a noisy setting has been life-changing.”

Paul’s story echoes a common challenge faced by many—the inability to follow conversations in a noisy environment. His life took a significant turn for the better once he got his hearing aids. Today, he is a passionate advocate for Hear in Texas, encouraging anyone with hearing issues to seek help.

The next inspiring story comes from Jackie.

Jackie’s first full day of actually hearing everything in full clarity was after her visit to Hear in Texas. “Everything was explained, all my questions were answered, and the staff is super friendly,” she recalls. “If you have hearing issues I highly recommend this company!!! You may even get a chance to meet Hear-O!!!!”

Like Paul, Jackie’s life significantly improved after getting her hearing aids from Hear in Texas.

Jean also had a great experience with us, applauding our team for not pushing to sell hearing aids. Instead, we recommended she come back for another evaluation in a year. We focus on each individual’s unique hearing needs and recommend devices that could improve their hearing difficulties the most.

We also have Matt, who feels that Hear in Texas is the only audiology clinic he will ever go to. He appreciated how everyone, from the front desk to the back office, is kind and helpful.

Sharon, who never thought she’d need hearing aids, found the process super easy with Hear in Texas. She believes Dr. Sally is absolutely wonderful and highly recommends our professional and friendly staff.

And then there is Lucero, who was very impressed with our high-tech equipment and thorough hearing test. She even recommended us to her spouse!

These are just a handful of the countless stories from local people who noticed that their hearing was not as it once was and made the commitment to address this challenge.

Two Common Hurdles

On average, people wait up to seven years from first realizing that they have a hearing loss to finally accessing treatment. However, anyone who has successfully achieved better hearing will tell you they wish they took action sooner.

Why? Because untreated hearing loss often worsens, and what is lost can never be naturally recovered. This makes protecting your hearing health and seeking treatment as soon as possible incredibly important.

Most people hesitate to move forward with treatment due to two main reasons.

#1—They fundamentally don’t want to be seen as a hearing aid wearer

No one anticipates the day they might need to wear a hearing aid. However, today’s hearing technology is far more discreet than you might imagine. In fact, most people who wear them will tell you that others rarely notice their hearing aids.

#2—They are unsure of the benefits of hearing aids

Hearing aids today are incredibly advanced and can offer life-changing improvements. As you can see from our patient stories, individuals experience significant changes in their hearing, communication, and overall quality of life.

Despite these common hurdles, we believe that everyone deserves access to the hearing healthcare they need. If you or a loved one is considering hearing loss treatment, we hope these stories from our patients inspire you to take the next step.
