Hear for the Holidays—We Have a Winner!

The time has come to announce the winner of our first-ever Hear for the Holidays competition.

If you remember, over the holidays we opened our inbox to everyone in New Braunfels, hoping to find a neighbor who is in great need of hearing aids.

Unfortunately, too many people struggle with hearing loss without addressing it because they are understandably occupied with their families and career.

We launched this competition to help ease the burden of someone’s busy life by providing healthy hearing. We asked everyone around to nominate whom they thought could make the best use of a brand-new, top-of-the-line set of hearing aids, and we were overwhelmed by the results.

The amount of love and caring that this community has for each other makes us proud to be a part of it.

We are so thankful for everyone who participated, and we promise to help each of you achieve your own hearing goals. For one lucky person this season, their goals will be met, and they can look forward to a lifetime of clear and concise hearing.

Our Winner is…

The winner of the 2022 Hear for the Holidays competition is Marianne Rush!

Marianne is a long-time resident of New Braunfels and is known for being a genuine, compassionate family person and a valued member of this community. For years Marianne struggled with her hearing, especially on the left side.

After voluntarily getting a test to see what was causing the problem, it was determined that her middle ear bones were not vibrating like they used to. This placed more strain on her right side and threw off her sense of direction. Now she is fitted with the latest technology to help her ears work together and restore her sense of direction.

After using a $40 over-the-counter hearing device, Marianne was quite sour on the idea of hearing aids. Now that she has been custom fitted with a hearing aid that addresses her specific problem, she hasn’t stopped smiling.

This was a Joyous Occasion…

One of the things about this process that surprised Marianne was how advanced the technology is compared to the device she was using. Being able to make adjustments based on her needs is what makes hearing aids so worthwhile.

The tests showed that Marianne was only hearing 15% from her left ear. With the proper equipment, we were able to correct that and balance her left with the right.

It astounded Marianne when she could tell exactly which direction the sound was coming from. The hearing aids we fit her with have the largest bandwidth available, meaning she can easily hear a wide range of sounds.

They are also shaped to fit her ear exactly, and she was able to put them in herself comfortably on the first try! This was our favorite part of the competition. Seeing people like Marianne enjoy healthy hearing is what we are here for.

We hope to continue this service for a long time to many other residents in New Braunfels.

It’s All About the Nomination

Struggling at work is a sure sign that your hearing is letting you down; that was the case with Marianne. She missed work to attend hearing appointments, prompting her boss to nominate her for our contest.

After reading all the kind things her boss had to say about her, we chose her as our winner.

We received many deserving nominations, but we could only choose one. This year it was Marianne via the heartwarming nomination written by her boss.

Looking Ahead

We are so proud of all the nominations and the love everyone here demonstrated. As a reminder, just because you didn’t win doesn’t mean your hearing should suffer.
