Lisa Hernandez | Women of Influence in New Braunfels Business Leadership

Dr. Sally Women of InfluenceLisa Hernandez Women of Influence

There’s a difference between someone who networks and someone who knows how to genuinely connect. Lisa Hernandez is the kind of woman who can walk into a room in New Braunfels, on her own, and leave with real relationships, not just business cards.

Lisa is the President and a Commercial Lender at Prosperity Bank, and if you’ve spent any time around the New Braunfels business community, chances are you’ve seen her in action. I first met her at a the Women’s Business Alliance luncheon with New Braunfels Chamber, where she introduced herself by saying she “sells money.” That told me everything I needed to know, sharp, confident, and completely herself.

We recently sat down at The Reel here in New Braunfels, and what stood out (again) wasn’t just her experience, it was how she shows up. Consistent. Approachable. And always willing to step in where she’s needed. Whether that’s through her work in banking or the time she gives to local nonprofits, she’s someone who contributes to this community in a real way.

What I admire most is her confidence. Not the loud kind, the grounded kind. The kind that allows you to walk into a room alone and trust that you belong there.

When I asked her what advice she gives to women in leadership, she kept it simple: stay true to yourself. That’s something I come back to often. In business, in leadership, in life; if you’re constantly adjusting who you are to fit the room, you lose the very thing that makes people trust you.

She also shared something practical that more people need to hear, be intentional with your money. Build a realistic budget, plan ahead, and don’t try to navigate financial decisions alone. Your banker, your CPA, your advisors, they should all be part of your strategy.

Lisa is a strong example of what leadership looks like in New Braunfels today. It’s not performative. It’s not forced. It’s steady, self-aware, and rooted in who you are.

And that’s exactly why it works.
